   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
% [' W$ D8 |9 ]! L- E4 g* ?forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
( L# f: w' H0 b2 U5 e   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
& _) e4 n/ o7 q* i$ S3 nengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
. X; I1 E: y% @7 i  q+ Lprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
8 E1 j& C* x, \4 W: B. i( |9 F& sat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
" @( m+ W! {1 U% aone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
& y: d1 d- z/ F2 z" a2 pdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can

re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
( L. R+ i1 E; z/ ^' S+ Nparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
) O, i- O& }: |' Yprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
. @3 y/ C% z7 eformulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
) i- K* [( x3 n$ lelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
; d6 R# _' U3 |- k) ^8 U; L; Btransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
1 G( R, |$ z  X  Fphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
  @8 E! v+ I6 Cquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
+ y' h0 U3 F' Z. J# `     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
( N6 X4 _' h1 b( n  D: `between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
: h7 m" F- y* u9 O" t' \0 dheads auido/code crosstalk of better
6 }4 w$ a2 i+ e! v7 Vthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
# o2 S( S! C0 B( D7 P3 pcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
* ^/ U3 g9 x; R6 Laudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
     More feathures standard and optional are available.
