forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with

1 k/ n& C' U8 e5 h  _# pcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
9 `" G+ @! _4 W& z  L# N* jgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
5 d0 M7 z9 I. v" t9 |   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
, K. `. a- O/ l4 [three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
) m1 r0 m% A/ x! q% D* t* }+ h% ?variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
, J/ O' _  @3 n  }locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
6 T1 A9 [3 {' B3 |8 g4 A( }- i  Sdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
9 z0 w# E4 Y/ e5 E- `( iprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
9 h  E1 s; [( S" g& Q: T    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
8 u3 L) x7 e7 p# Hpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
9 x2 f3 l( |' K1 c3 F4 E; ~3 Aprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
+ b& I& y6 ~. e8 H% _8 X2 Welectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
+ r5 `: w6 a( Tquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
7 N" E4 Z' I" }     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
, e! e' b9 q5 S/ Y7 K' L5 Zbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
( b& S8 }" a( Q: p# @) v2 U% R+ Kthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
